The Summary Report on the MIPEX Health Strand and Country Reports has been produced within the Equi-Health project, Fostering health provision for migrants, the Roma, and other vulnerable groups, by the Migration Health Division of the International Organization of Migration in collaboration with COST Action IS1103, Adapting European Health Systems to Diversity (ADAPT), and the Migration Policy Group (MPG). Under the general coordination of Prof. David Ingleby (University of Amsterdam), more than 100 experts from 40 countries contributed to this project.
This Summary Report presents the results from the Migrant Integration Policy Index (MIPEX) Health strand, designed to supplement the existing seven strands of MIPEX. This instrument measures the equitability of a country’s policies relating to the health of migrants.
The Health strand is based on the Recommendations on Mobility, migration and access to health care adopted by the Council of Europe in 2011, which resulted from a consultation process involving researchers, intergovernmental organizations, non-governmental organizations and a wide range of specialists in health care for migrants.
