Launch of the “Recommendations on access to health services for migrants in an irregular situation: an expert consensus”

20 October 2016 - Produced within the framework of the IOM’s EQUI-HEALTH project, in collaboration with COST Action IS1103 ADAPT (Adapting European health systems to diversity), the Recommendations on access to health services for migrants in an irregular situation: an expert consensus, presents the arguments for improving irregular migrants’ access to healthcare services as well as that of all other groups excluded from proper coverage.

Developed in the course of a series of joint international meetings by experts on migration, health policy, human rights law, health economics and epidemiology, as well as by representatives of intergovernmental and civil society organisations, the document provides twelve recommendations and an overview of the relevant research studies, reports, international treaties, policy initiatives and debates on migration and healthcare coverage.

IOM MHD RO Brussels is inviting individual experts and organizations to endorse this expert consensus in order to further backup its content, by sending the full name, title and address of their organisation (in the original language and in English) and its website address to ROBrusselsMHUnit@iom.int
